Why you should hire a Wedding Coordinator or Planner

The wedding industry has rapidly changed over the last few years. The way you planned a wedding 30 years ago is a thing of the past. More and more couples are finding themselves hiring a wedding coordinator or planner. These individuals come with top industry knowledge. They are able to keep your big day stress free and take care of any problem that should arise. Here is a list of a few reasons why you should hire a Wedding Coordinator or Planner:


1. Contracts

The first advantage of having a coordinator or planner is that they know contracts inside and out. Almost all vendors require couples to sign a contract when booking with them. When you are not used to reading formalized event contracts, you may find yourself signing something that can hurt you rather than help you. Coordinators or planners have read hundreds of contracts and can help clients find items that may be a concern. This can save couples unwanted headaches and possibly save you money in the long run! 


2. Vendor Recommendations

Another great advantage you have when you use a wedding coordinator or planner is that they have MANY vendor contacts. When you work in the wedding industry, you get to meet and build a relationship with countless vendors. You can trust your coordinator to be able to recommend reputable vendors to you and your fiance that can work with your budget.


3. Ideas

You have to remember, your coordinator or planner has probably seen HUNDREDS of weddings and events. They know what works and what doesn't work. They can give you ideas on decor and how to set up a room. They often think of the things that you wouldn't think about or even know of. Just think of them as your very own pinterest! Pick their brain and have fun bouncing ideas off each other. 


4. Timeline

This is probably one of the biggest parts of planning a wedding. By now, you've booked all of your vendors, but there is nothing formally written out with the big picture of the day. At Day of Divas, we take all of your ideas and visions and put them to paper. We contact all of your vendors and discuss with them their parts and pieces of your day. We then make a realistic timeline from beginning to end. This includes when vendors are arriving, where events are taking place, all contact information, etc. This document is then approved by the couple and sent to all vendors. Anyone should be able to look at the timeline and be able to know what is going on at that moment. 


5. Peace of Mind

Finally, your wedding is here, Congratulations! Your job is to relax and enjoy the entire day. By now you have worked long and hard on the planning process for it to boil down to a mere 12 hours. Your coordinator or planner will make sure that your seating cards are out and your candy bar is set up. After all, this is your wedding day and you should be able to enjoy each other and the company of your guests. If a problem should arise, have no fear, your coordinator or planner will take care of it behind the scenes. You won't even know there was ever a problem!
